I came across the Aluminium Art website [https://www.aluminiumart.co.uk/] in my internet wanderings and found that Matthew Warburton’s work was very appealing.
I thought I’d ask him about a custom project to portray the Classic British cars that I’ve enjoyed over the years. To keep it manageable I only included those that I’d owned and enjoyed for over a year and came up with this list:
- 1946 Morris 8 Series E
- 1954 Austin A30
- 1969 MGB Roadster
- 1975 Triumph TR6
- 1967 Jaguar 420
- 1959 Morris Minor Van
- 1958 Austin A95 Westminster
Matthew was very easy to work with and even agreed to make the pieces from old Draught Guinness cans to combine my two favourite hobbies!
I supplied profile images and we agreed a price.
A two-day turnaround and Matthew has sent me an image of the seven pieces as a work-in-progress. They will be mounted (hence the tabs) in a black-bordered glass frame and then shipped to me.
I’ll update with an image of the completed product when it arrives.
If anyone is interested in a similar project, contact Matthew at firstname.lastname@example.org … mention my name if you care to, I don’t get any kick-back but I’d get a kick from knowing that I’d helped make someone’s day.
